Tura Tops the Charts in SSLC Exams 2024


 MBOSE RESULTS-2024

The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) announced the SSLC and HSSLC results in May 2024. The HSSLC results for the Science, Commerce, and Vocational streams were declared on May 8, while the SSLC and HSSLC (Arts) results were released on May 24. Aditya Prasad from Don Bosco College (Higher Secondary Section), Tura, secured the 3rd position statewide with an impressive score of 458 marks. Although Tura did not have a topper in the Science stream, the remarkable performances of Tanisha Das (451 marks) and Salseng Marak (450 marks), both from Don Bosco College (Higher Secondary Section), Tura, earned them the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively.

The SSLC results were particularly noteworthy for the town. Sherwood School continued its tradition of excellence by producing three state toppers. Anuj Chetry claimed the top spot with a remarkable 575 marks, Ayumi M Momin secured the 6th position with 565 marks, and Arunav Kumar Paul achieved the 19th position with 545 marks.

Aeroville Higher Secondary School also maintained its high academic standards, contributing two toppers this year. Obadiah Namaan B Sangma secured the 9th position with 557 marks, and Eve Amareen A Sangma attained the 14th position with 550 marks.

 


Other esteemed institutions in Tura also made the state and town proud. Aime Azora G Momin from St. Xavier's Higher Secondary School secured the 4th position with 568 marks, Dechro M Marak from Don Bosco Higher Secondary School achieved the 11th position with 555 marks, and Lillian Christiano B Marak from Christian Girls' Higher Secondary School secured the 20th position with 544 marks.

 


OVERALL RESULT PERFORMANCE

SCIENCE STREAM

Out of a total of 3,766 candidates appearing in the Science Stream from both Regular and Non-Regular categories in Meghalaya, 3,210 passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 85.24%. In West Garo Hills, 642 candidates appeared in the Science Stream, with 485 passing, leading to a pass percentage of 75.55%.

COMMERCE STREAM

In Meghalaya, 2,411 candidates appeared for the Commerce Stream exams, with 1,935 successfully passing, resulting in a state pass percentage of 80.26%. In the West Garo Hills district, 247 candidates appeared for the exams, with 169 passing, leading to a district pass percentage of 68.42%.

ARTS STREAM

In Meghalaya, 27,374 candidates appeared for the exam, with 21,833 successfully passing. This results in a pass percentage of 79.76%. In the West Garo Hills district, 4,352 candidates appeared and 2,855 passed, yielding a pass percentage of 65.60%.

SSLC (Class-X)

In Meghalaya, a total of 54,134 candidates appeared for the exams, with 30,208 students passing successfully, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 55.80%. In the West Garo Hills district, 10,604 candidates took the exams, and 4,524 students passed, leading to a pass percentage of 42.66% for the district.
